If I had a gun to my head and was asked who the greatest composer of all-time was, three things would happen. First, I would say “you’re the most intense classical music fan I ever met, man.” Second, I would say “please disregard that urine smell.” Finally, I would say “I think it might be Maurice Ravel.” The first of those two statements would likely be consistent regardless of when I was asked the question with a gun to my head, but the final one might vary depending on what day you ask me. Pretending that the day is today? I’m going with Maurice Ravel. I’m clearly under the influence of some kind of spell cast by a dead French person. Someone help me. But don’t actually, I’m good. It’s Friday, Friday, time to bury our head in our hands in a display of frustration and sadness; fun, fun, fun, fun…

I used to watch Tosh.0 back when we had cable.  I appreciate the concept of the show: someone else slogging their way through the bowels of the internet in search of the funniest and most insane videos out there so I don’t have to.  Since we’ve made the move to simply using Netflix or Hulu or whatever to watch television through our computer, I haven’t seen the show in some time.  If I had, I would have seen this:

I was at a concert: Opening night!

The Kansas City Symphony began their final season in the Lyric Theater this Friday with a splashy concert featuring a new composition, a world-renowned guest artist, and some popular 20th century masterpieces.  By the way, this is the final season for the Symphony in the Lyric Theater, which will no longer be used for symphonic concerts, opera performances, or the Ludovico technique.  The brand new Kauffman Center will open in 2011, with much fanfare.  Also, this will be the final season in the Lyric Theater.
